I will stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.
Former twice world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As both boxers engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
